The Neopartners Ltd. Team has built many monoline-based Intelligent Well Electronics Systems, fully rated to 150 °C and qualified for a minimum 5 years continuous life at this temperature.

Smart/Intelligent well electronics systems include:

These smart well systems utilise the CANbus communications protocol, but other systems are available, such as FSK Modem and a range of field bus standards. All of our intelligent well designs use high temperature qualified components. These proven parts and protocols have enabled us to develop very reliable systems.

Highly Accelerated Life Testing (Shake and Bake) carried out to defence and aerospace specifications, has contributed further to the robustness of our intelligent well systems systems.

Two major system designs are:

Production System

For multi-level choke control using programmable PWM drivers. 16-bit sensor resolution for pressure, temperature and vibration monitoring. Up to 12 separate downhole nodes give totally independent control and monitoring of each level.

Safety Critical System

Giving continuous positional data as well as motor drive current and voltage indications. Pressure, temperature and vibration measurements are also supplied in this intelligent well system.

Using C and 8051 based microcontrollers for embedded design has proved to be very robust and efficient. Coupled with the fault tolerant benefits of the CANbus protocol, this has lead to very high standards of reliability. Surface Control Units and GUI front-end are also added for control and data display/storage.
