Objectives:

  • Design and build (with assistance) downhole electronic systems
  • Development of broadband (ADSL) type technologies to provide high performance communications to and from well-based artificial lift (pumping) systems.

Appropriate training and mentoring will be provided either within the business or externally as required. It is important to understand that the work is technically interesting, complex and is team based, sharing problems and solutions.

You will report to the director of the business but at the same time you will be expected to liaise with all the staff as required. Nominal working hours are 37.5 per week but the nature of the job is such that you will be expected to work flexibly and travel as required although this is the exception rather than the rule

Essential Requirements:

  • Some hardware/software experience.
  • Experience of CAD software
  • Graduates must not have previously been supported in a UCP Graduate Placement programme*

  • Good general IT skills
  • Graduates should ideally (but not necessarily) have graduated within the last 5 years and be unemployed or not fulfilling their graduate potential*

*Eligibility Criteria

This position is supported by the Unlocking Cornish Potential (UCP) scheme. UCP is a graduate level placement scheme which works with businesses to recruit and support ongoing business development through the placement of a graduate. In some cases, the business may choose to recruit a recent graduate and take advantage of a support package that UCP provides to assist the graduate to be successful in the job role.
